The wearing of school uniform at all times is a key part of our drive to develop our students awareness and ability to conform to required standards necessary for when they leave school and join the workplace etc.
It is an essential part of the school rules which is clearly discussed with you and your son on admission to the school. As such we require you to ensure that your son wears the full school uniform at all times when attending school. Just to clarify the Falconer School uniform for Year 7 to Year 10 students consists of:-
School Blazer and Tie
School Trousers (Black)
Smart Shoes (Black) (THESE MUST NOT BE BLACK TRAINERS)
School uniform for Year 11 students consists of:-
Shirt and Tie
Please note that school uniform does not include the wearing of any types of headwear or the wearing of non-uniform T-shirts or hoodies underneath their blazer. Neither does it include the wearing of outdoor wear except when travelling to and from school etc.
Despite this very clear set of criteria, some of our students regularly come into school without wearing the proper uniform. As a result I plan to introduce a warning system. Within each school term any student entering school without the correct uniform will be issued with a warning. They will need to have a very good reason for not wearing uniform and we will check this with you. A good reason is NOT that the uniform has not been washed or that it is lost at home.
If they receive a second warning within that term they will be sent home to change or if possible, not allowed to board school transport. If we are unable to contact you we will require a meeting with you the next school day.
On a more positive note, most of our students attend school every day wearing the full school uniform. They will now be rewarded for this through the use of bonus points awarded each day by form tutors.
If you have any issues and would like to discuss it please do not hesitate to contact our Home Liaison Team on 0208 950 2505
